SkillMill is a mobile app built over a bit more than a year by a team of Game Design students working alongside career counselors and the Uppsala University Unit for Global Partnerships, funded by Uppsala University and Erasmus+.
It helps students reflect on the soft skills — communication, creativity, problem-solving, and more — they've picked up through life experience, so they're better prepared to answer soft-skill questions in job interviews. Self-reflection exercises tap into a framework built by the career counselors, and every experience a user logs is cataloged by soft skill so it's easy to find again later.
We presented the app at the EAIE conference in Barcelona in September 2022; it's now live on both Android and iOS.
I was the sole developer, handling both the Flutter front-end and the SQLite-backed back-end.
