Toilet Paper Hustle is a short school project made for the course Game Design 6: Experimental Game Design, built under the restriction of drawing as little as possible from existing genre tropes.
The player starts in a bathroom, controlling a floating hand, and has to search an apartment for a roll of toilet paper to bring back. The hand can grab and interact with objects along the way — including a Game & Watch console on a table that lets you play Dance Dance Low Resolution, a game we made with the same team, from within Toilet Paper Hustle itself.
The idea was to give the player a goal and then let the detours along the way upstage it. With more time we'd have opened up more of the apartment to explore, with puzzles and minigames of its own.
Made by a team of three, I was the sole programmer.
